Election Day is Approaching: Make Your Vote Count!

As the 2024 Election Day draws near, it’s crucial for citizens to be informed about the voting process. Casting your ballot is not only straightforward and safe; it’s a fundamental right in this democratic society. With the election slated for Tuesday, November 5, 2024, voters are encouraged to take action to ensure their voices are heard.

What is Early Voting?

Early voting is a convenient option that allows voters to cast their ballots in person before the actual Election Day. This resource is designed to alleviate the pressure of crowded polling places and minimize the unpredictability of potential complications on the big day. The specific early voting periods can vary by county, which is why it’s essential to familiarize yourself with your local regulations.

When Can I Vote Early?

In Miami-Dade County, early voting is available from October 21 to November 3, with polling locations open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. If you reside in Broward County, you can also take advantage of early voting during the same time frame. It’s advisable to plan your early voting trip ahead of time to avoid the crowds and ensure that your voice is heard without the rush.

How Else Can I Cast My Ballot?

In addition to early voting, Florida offers two other methods to cast your ballot: by mail or in-person on Election Day.

Voting by Mail
You can request a vote-by-mail ballot that allows you to fill in your choices at your convenience. Once completed, you can drop it off at designated drop boxes located at your county’s Supervisor of Elections office or at any early voting site, or you can mail it back.

Keep in mind these important deadlines:

  • Deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot: October 24
  • Deadline to return a vote-by-mail ballot: Your ballot must be received by the Supervisor of Elections’ office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, regardless of the postmark.
